Daniel Negreanu Biography

In 1997 a the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods, Daniel won two events for a total of $133,600. Not only did he win the two events but he was also named the tournament's best all-around player. A year later daniel continued his winning by winning 169,460 and a braclet at the WSOP $2,000 Pot Limit Hold'em event. This win set a WSOP record for the youngest player to win a bracelet, this record stood until 2004.

The next few years were very good to Daniel which saw him become one of the most success tournament players in the history of the game. Daniel added two WPT events, two more WSOP bracelets, 11 final tables a WSOP player of the year in 2004 and WPT player of the year in 2005 to his already impressive record.

When the Wynn opened, Daniel was their "Poker Ambassador" which meant that he played in their poker room for any stake. Daniel filled this position until October 2005 when he left the Wynn to pursue other high stakes games outside of the Wynn. Later that year Daniel launched an online poker room on his own website where he played under the name of Kid Poker. He used his website to find a protege to help become a world class poker player. Brian Fidler was his 2006 protege and Anthony Mak was his 2007 protege. Daniel has since shut down the poker room on his website.

Along with his online and land based poker tournaments, Daniel is a regular in the "Big Game" held in Bobby's room at the Bellagio casino for the past several years.

Daniel credits his ability to read people as his key to success. Without this skill Daniel says he wouldn't even be a good poker player.

On TV Daniel has been seen on a number of shows like Late Night Poker, Poker After Dark, the third season of Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, and High Stakes Poker. Along with playing you can find Daniel serving as a commentator and host (stand-in) for Ultimate Poker Challenge. In 2007 Daniel appeard in the reality series Rob and Amber: Against the Odds in which he mentored Rob Mariano to become a professional poker player.

In 2006 Daniel was named Card Player Magazine's "Favorite Poker Player" at their Player of the Year Awards Gala.
